Program Manager — Socket.dev, calgary (Hiring Now)
This is a unique leadership opportunity to join Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) during a period of significant organizational and health system transformation.
As Manager, Corporate Finance & Advisory Services, you will lead a team responsible for delivering operational finance and advisory services supporting a complex province-wide laboratory organization that plays a critical role in patient care across Alberta.
In this role, you will work closely with operational, medical, and senior leaders to support financial planning, operational decision-making, organizational performance, and strategic priorities.
You will provide leadership and oversight for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and financial advisory services across assigned portfolios while contributing to enterprise initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
This position is eligible to work remotely within the province of Alberta, subject to operational requirements.
As the Manager, Corporate Finance & Advisory Services, you will provide leadership and direction for operational finance and advisory services across assigned portfolios within Alberta Precision Laboratories.
You will oversee and support external audit coordination, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and operational finance support activities while leading a team of finance professionals in a large, complex healthcare organization.
Your responsibilities will include monitoring financial performance and emerging risks, supporting business planning and operational initiatives, ensuring compliance with financial policies and reporting requirements, and supporting operational and strategic decision-making through financial analysis and advisory services.
You will also support staff development, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering collaborative relationships with operational, medical, and corporate stakeholders.
A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, combined with a recognized professional accounting designation (e.g., Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA)) in good standing.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience at a management level in financial management, planning, reporting, and corporate finance within a large, complex healthcare organization is required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Advanced education in business administration, finance, or leadership (e.g., MBA or equivalent), along with continued professional development in financial management or governance.
Experience within healthcare or other complex public-sector environments, including financial planning, reporting, and supporting senior leadership or governance-level decision-making.
